Know Your Worth: Midsummer River - Painting with Music Outdoor Workshops at Damems Nature Reserve, Keighley

£0.00

Join me for a series of 3 FREE expressive painting workshops taking place in Keighley’s secret nature haven at Damems. Sandwiched improbably between the Worth Valley Railway line and Halifax Road in a hidden valley, the fast flowing river Worth tumbles between industrial ruins through beautiful woods on its way to join the Aire.

The workshops are taking place outside by the river at Damems Nature Reserve if you are local or just love the river, please come along! Part of our wider Know Your Worth Project in Collaboration with Aire Rivers Trust Roots In The River project and HATCH projects.

Saturday 27th June 10am-1pm

Anna from Aire Rivers Trust will be joining us in the morning for an gentle guided walk by the river, she’ll tell us about the species and ecology of our river and about how the Rivers Trust takes care of the Worth with the help of local volunteers. We will be working in concertina sketchbooks to gather quick sketches and drawings and notes along the way as we get to know the place.

Tuesday 30th June in the evening 6pm-7.30pm

Latterhand (Ian Tothill, violin and Phil Moody, keyboard) will be joining us on the evening of the midsummer full moon to celebrate the rise of Summer by the river, we will create a beautiful, communal, large scale artwork together responding to the woods, the river and the music, maybe we will catch a glimpse of the enigmatic white deer who live in this valley

Sunday 5th July 12-3pm

Latterhand will be joining us again for this Sunday afternoon session, where you will each be given boards or a canvas and materials to paint your own response to the river, the music and the whole experience.

If you have any questions please email me

Kindly funded by Keighley Town Council and with support from Aire Rivers Trust and Latterhand
